LMG and TENCUE Unite in Innovation for Cisco

by | Feb 20, 2024 | Corporate

TENCUE’s designs are known for pushing technology to its limits, often requiring early adoption or customization to bring their productions to life. This mindset

offered LMG the perfect environment for incubation of new ideas and cutting-edge solutions. Based on previous experiences partnering with TENCUE on Cisco IMPACT, LMG’s technical service experts identified opportunities to innovate to streamline the load-in and minimize equipment requirements, providing additional efficiencies and flexibility on show site for the TENCUE team.

LMG’s dedication to continuous improvement was on display by using their latest flagship mobile production rack and custom-designed fiber optics breakout systems, allowing the load-in to become significantly smoother and quicker. Additionally, LMG’s custom LED bumpers helped expedite the setup process which sped up the installation time for the massive LED walls, reducing the overall labor requirements.

TENCUE’s Chief Operating Officer, Braughnwynn “Bibi” Brown, shared, “During our recent IMPACT event, Rich Tate from LMG introduced me to their tailored solutions for TENCUE on the IMPACT show. We share a common ethos of relentless innovation, consistently asking, ‘How can we do this better?’ This collaboration naturally evolved as we focused on optimizing efficiency and scalability, prioritizing innovative approaches over shortcuts.”

“Our team redesigned both our switching and LED systems to accommodate the show’s growing scale. The goal was to optimize the loading processes, meet scheduling demands, and ensure our systems aligned seamlessly with the evolving requirements. The implementation of newer, more robust systems allowed us to keep pace with the show’s demands,” says Stephen Campbell, Executive Vice President of LMG’s Technical Services.

LMG replaced multiple switching packages with the new Acuity MBR, a custom- built, powerful, and capable mobile switching rack based on the Ross Ultrix, designed for versatility, efficiency, and space optimization. This innovative solution underscores LMG’s commitment to enhancing event logistics without compromising performance or quality.

The custom-designed fiber breakout system implemented by LMG on IMPACT was created specifically to address a desire to execute complex, fiber optic-heavy load-ins using less cable and less labor while speeding up the process. With 9,400 linear feet (31 football fields) worth of flown truss and 48 million pixels of LED content required for TENCUE’s Global Session design, these efficiencies were imperative. LMG’s Director of LED, David Luchsinger, worked with manufacturers to design, test, and ultimately build out multiple, custom, fiber optic breakout systems that could be used to send massive amounts of data down a single

line of fiber that could then be distributed locally from the top of the arena. LMG reduced the amount of fiber needed to run by 88%, saving approximately 160 man- hours of labor during load in.

The customization didn’t end with fiber optics. David and the LMG technical services team also helped design and refine custom LED bumpers that fold open into larger sections that can be shipped in standard cases. The longer bumpers allow for the LED to be hung and leveled more quickly with fewer moving parts and pieces.

The long-standing collaboration between TENCUE and LMG represents a dynamic fusion of innovation and creativity that is only possible within a trusted partnership. The alignment between TENCUE’s creative vision and LMG’s technical capabilities and cutting-edge execution has resulted in Cisco’s event exceeding expectations, creating new industry standards, and inspiring LMG and TENCUE to continue to push beyond technology.
